as a result of a writing class, i've been revisiting dusty, old wooden boxes of letters, journals, and calendars and saw your name and address from 1986 when you lived on Bryant St.
Our souls are connected in some unknown way...well, it's the music. i lost my mother to suicide in 1977 and discovered a cave of tonal flow that healed my soul enough to find dance and music, and later, love.
i was living on Green st in Northhampden Mass...i'd sneak into the concert halls, practice rooms and dorms at Smith college and play for my soul. Calling the pieces back, cleansing the fragments and tucking them in to the chakral colors of life.
That was in 1977-78. I went on to study psychology, practicing with young first offenders in St. Paul, and then Hazelden. Joined Minnesota Ethnic Dance Theatre around the time i met you i think. we played piano some together, do you remember? so upon seeing your name again i googled you and listened again to your music...soooo familiar and beautiful.
Thank you for carrying on and finding ways to nourish the music. It is a gift you give the world.

During this difficult time in america, your music has such honesty-so soulful and real...I weep when I listen to it. Seeing such pictures of extra-ordinary grace. The photos of your wife are so moving. How I wish I knew the man behing the music. You are indeed a musician that moves me. You inspire my poetry and reach deep into my soul.

After listening to the first song,
I can hear an honest soul communicating
a lot of pain and love from a life of great experiance. In the end it turns out the
way it was supposed to be.

Jerry's most recent music (2008) creates in me both visual and emotional responses. There is an ephemeral quality throughout. Notes move through my body and mind creating images of falling rain, butterflies emerging from their cocoons, clouds passing across the moon. I feel emotional crescendos that gently dissolve, like waves crashing to the shore, making it almost impossible not to move my body with the music, which surges through me vibrating every cell. When the last note is struck, it continues to resonate in my spirit. Beautiful, refreshing, stimulating !!!!

Here: A place where the deep anguish of life meets the ecstasy head on. In balance, these two? Always, the Yin and Yang are there somewhere. Thank you, Jerry, for all you give to life, to me, and to others -- and I hope to you.

It's enlightning to read about someone so successful from my home town. I am going to try to order some of that great music, not only for myself, but also for my daughter-in-law .
